What is Yoga?
Yoga is an art and discipline of finding self-fulfillment. We have always believed with finding completeness and self-actualization with the external world. In contrary, Yoga became popular as a Hindu spiritual ritual of finding fulfillment within one’s self. It is a series of breath control, maintaining body postures and meditation which focuses on looking deeply into the depths of own soul in order to attain the optimum level of relaxation.
Best postures of yoga for weight loss
Asana is a Hindi term coined to mean the different postures you make while performing yoga. There is a specific asana for every part of your body which you want to shed off pounds.
This is done for two minutes at an estimate.
Simhasana, otherwise known as the lion pose. You sit in a lion pose. Feet intertwined and hands pressed to the mat. You bend you spine and stick your tongue out. This is very helpful in removing double chin.
Jalandhara Bandha is an asana for those having thyroid problems. In a sitting position with both legs intertwined in front, you need to bend your head until your chin is locked in your chest. This is best to define your jawline.
Fats in the Arms
This is done for five to six minutes.
Adho Mukha Svanasana, otherwise known as downward dog pose. This position is where you stretch your arms and your legs in a bending position.
Chaturanga Dandasana also known as low plank pose. This is like doing a planking position having your arms supporting your body.
Ardha Pincha Mayurasana is known as the dolphin pose. This pose is similar to the Adho Mukha Svanasana but instead of using the palms to support the body, the arms in used and the feet are little bit pointed that the toes touch the mat.
Urdhva Mukha Svanasana is almost similar to the Adho Mukha Svanasana but the deviation is on the legs. Both legs are laid down on the floor while the face is looking upward with the palms faced and touching the floor and fully supporting the body.
For the shoulders, back and body
This is done in four to six minutes.
Bharadvajasana is known as the seated twist pose. This involves a profound twist of the upper torso.
Ardha Matsyendrasana involves a coordination of movement of your spine, neck and shoulder.
Fats in the stomach
This is done in five to seven minutes.
Naukasana, also known as the boat pose, is the opposite position of the Adho Mukha Svanasana. In this asana, both arms and legs are stretched upwards with the torso and butt supporting the body.
Matsyasana is known as the fish pose. This is simply placing both hands facing down below the buttocks, with body bent upward and rear part of the head touching the mat.
Anantasana is one of the common asana used involving body facing sidewards, one leg lifted up touched by the one arm also lifted upward. The support of the body is from the other arm touching the mat.
For the thighs
This is done in six to eight minutes.
Baddha Konasana reduces fats in the inner and outer thighs. This asana is in sitting position with both sole touching each other.
